When the Vancouver Canucks took to the ice this year, two sponsors renewed their involvement with the team for the 2013 - 2014 season.
Mitch Drew from JACKSON MITCHELL ADVERTISING explains, "Taking a dominant sponsorship position in live Vancouver Canucks games is a way to really position our clients. Their brand is aligned with the number one sports franchise in BC and in most nights the number one rated program on TV".
Autoway.ca and Cyclo Vac Central Vacuum both appeared in a series of games on Rogers SPORTSNET Pacific in virtual signage, the signage that appears behind the net and on the glass and is only viewed by the TV audience.
"We have placed our clients in virtual signage since the technology was first introduced. It's a great way to own the rink...and we get strong feedback from customers who see the signage and associate our brands with the Vancouver Canucks' Drew added.
In support of the virtual signage, both clients also air 15sec full sell TV commercials in Vancouver Canucks broadcasts on SN Pacific, SN Vancouver and CBC Hockey Night in Canada.
JMA also placed US online client 38DollarGlasses.com in virtual during the LA Kings playoff run this past spring.
