Broco Auto Glass launches new radio campaign

VANCOUVER - Broco Auto Glass will begin airing a new radio campaign on Monday using one of the most recognized voices in Vancouver radio, Jennifer Thomson. Thomson is the co-host of an afternoon show on CFUN and was the high profile traffic reporter on CKNW for a number of years.

"We wanted a voice that would be instantly recognizable to Vancouver commuters and having a female spokesperson helps us connect with our large female customer base" Fred Beck, CEO of BROCO explains. " Broco has an extremely high brand awareness in the city and by aligning our brand with the recognized name and voice of Jennifer's makes sense for our summer FREE CHIP REPAIR campaign" Beck added. "At Broco, we are extremely female friendly and welcome women customers into our shops....we make the experience of repairing a windshield hassle free and close to 70% of our customers are female"

HIGH PERCENTAGE OF WOMEN DECISION MAKERS

"Research shows that a high percentage of the automotive decisions are made by women" Mitch Drew, BROCO's advertising agent stated. "over 70% of women state they are responsible for making the maintenance decisions concerning their vehicles and only 8% said they were responsible for none of the maintenance decisions according to the Automotive Service Councils of California study" he added.

OTHER STATS ABOUT WOMEN AND THEIR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE

- According to the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, women are taking over the traditionally male-dominated responsibility of maintenance and repair. (VMR International, 2001)

Canucks Hockey in July? Game On!

VANCOUVER – It was Game On on Wednesday morning in the Vancouver Canucks dressing room at GM Place as the team executives officially launched the 2007-2008 TV Broadcast Schedule and introduced some new programs that will be featured on CANUCKS TV. Canucks EVP Jon Festinger was extremely happy to report that the first two games will be the San Jose exhibition game at home and the Edmonton away game on Saturday nights! (Sept 22 and 29th).

The event was also hosted by IMSTV, who will be the exclusive representatives of a suite of new sponsorship opportunities on CANUCKS TV. These include the games carried on Sportsnet as well as the 'Game of the Month' on PPV. There are a number of new opportunities available for advertisers including sponsorships, billboards, segment sponsorships and promotions.

ProStar LED Signage at GM Place
If you attended a game last season, you may have noticed the significant upgrades that have taken place inside GM Place. The new HD LED screen system is amazing and the wrap-around screen is an incredible 3' high by 149' wide, wrapping the entire rink! When a sponsors logo is on this screen, it's like that sponsor OWNS THE RINK. Very cool stuff!

New access for Local Advertisers

With new programming and sponsorship options on CANUCKS TV and new opportunities to have exposure 'in the building', we will likely see a new batch of non-traditional Canucks sponsors at the game and on TV this year.

BECK Agencies is currently placing our clients into Vancouver Canucks broadcast and signage/sponsorship packages and look forward to aligning our clients with one of the top brands in BC again in the 2007-2008 season.

'The Apprentice' to return with celebs!

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Check your publicist at the boardroom door — NBC is inviting celebrities to try to wow Donald Trump in the next version of "The Apprentice."

And while it would make for a marquee matchup, don't expect Rosie O'Donnell to be among them.

"It will never happen in this lifetime or beyond," said Cindi Berger, O'Donnell's spokeswoman.

The network announced Monday that the game show will be back in the middle of next season with the celebrity twist, the winner donating proceeds to charity instead of going to work for The Donald.

Westwood One CEO Kosann to Leave in '08

Radio programming provider Westwood One Inc. announced today Thursday said President and CEO Peter Kosann will leave in 2008, and that it has hired Gary Yusko as chief financial officer, effective July 16. The changes come as the company continues to work towards terminating its management agreement with CBS Radio.

The company also announced that, effective immediately, David Hillman assumes the newly created role of chief administrative officer. In addition to continuing to serve as EVP, business affairs and general counsel, Hillman will have overall responsibility for the company's corporate development and strategic direction and will assist the CEO in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company.

The current management agreement, which ends in 2009, has CBS Radio overseeing Westwood One operations. Westwood One said in April that it would not renew the management agreement, but it extended a syndication deal in which Westwood One will provide content to CBS Radio through 2017, writes the Associated Press (via Forbes).

Build Your Reputation by Donald J. Trump

I’ve been building the Trump brand for several decades. But from time to time, landmarks do come along.
Several months ago my son Eric joined us. So my three eldest children are now with the Trump Organization, helping to expand our brand. Don Jr, Ivanka and Eric are all here now. They are my real Apprentices, and they’re doing a great job. They know that I’m demanding, but they are disciplined and very hard workers, so they are a good fit with the Trump Organization.

Having a quality brand is very much like having a good reputation. It’s important to consider that fact, even when you are just starting out. Remember that everything you say and do is important. Actions matter. You are, literally, your own brand whether you have a business yet or not. If you are serious about what you’re doing, taking responsibility for yourself starts now.

Donald J. Trump is Chairman of Trump University.

Mr. Trump,

YOUR REPUTATION IS YOUR BRAND

This is a message YOU continue to drill into us and it can't be said enough. Your reputation is the "walk the talk" of who you are and what you do.

I try everyday to deliver on everything that I have in my power to do. If something goes sideways that is NOT in my power but still under my supervision...I take full charge of the situation and do everything in my power to get things back on track.

Your actions say so much about who you are and I've found that the longer I am in business, the more important my past relationships and business experiences contribute to my success going forward.

I guess your PAST really does catch up with you.

Mitch

Internet Passes Radio, on TV's Heels as 'Most Essential'

The internet has become increasingly important to U.S. consumers as a medium for information and entertainment, and is approaching the level of television in being "most essential," according to the "Internet and Multimedia 2007" report by Edison Media Research and Arbitron, reports MarketingCharts.

Some 33 percent of consumers age 12 and older, asked to choose the "most essential" medium in their life, selected the internet, just behind television (36 percent), but ahead of radio (17 percent) and newspapers (10 percent).

Five year earlier, the internet trailed TV by a significant margin (20 percent vs. 39 percent) and also trailed radio (26 percent).

The internet already leads television among those age 12-17, 18-24, 25-34, and 35-44. Only above age 45 do any age groups still put television in first place.

"It is not a stretch to say that the Internet has become just as important as television as an important source of information and entertainment in the lives of Americans," said Larry Rosin, president of Edison Media Research. "It is entirely possible that the Internet will lead in all positive categories five years from now."

MarketingCharts offers up more findings and charts from the study.
